Amanita Muscaria Mushroom Sticker
These red and white spotted celebs of the mushroom world have gained popularity through folktales, cartoons and Mario games, but did you know these fungi are responsible for helping reindeer fly? In sacred traditions of Arctic indigenous peoples, the Amanita Muscaria were used for shamanic vision quests on the winter solstice.
The mushrooms are poisonous to humans, but not reindeer, who passed the hallucinogenic - rather than noxious - properties on through their urine. In ceremony, this fluid would be consumed to initiate the trip in which both the shamans, and presumably the reindeer, took flight!
Measures 4 x 3.5 and printed on durable vinyl. Stickers are weather and dishwasher proof! The best part? They're made right here in Portland, OR!
